“Building an exceptional company is the result of building exceptional teams with exceptional people.”
Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the transportation industry, has been and continues to be a successful company because of our exceptional team.  Today, we will introduce one of these exceptional people, Skylar Brouse, as we continue a series of articles profiling our Team Members.

Name: Skylar Brouse

Position Title: Assembly Assistant

Date of Hire: 8/21/2023

What is your favorite story or memory during your time working at Team 1?
Skylar’s favorite memory comes from a Team 1 work party at Sand Hill. He recalls how welcoming everyone was and how the event felt like “one big happy family.” The night included dinner, drinks, and karaoke. Skylar even did some fishing afterward—making it a standout experience for him.

How has Team 1 helped your personal and/or professional development?
Working at Team 1 has helped Skylar move closer to his long-term goals. One of those goals is homeownership, and his time at Team 1 has allowed him to save and plan for the future. He shared that the job has been helping him “get further to where I want to go.”

What is your favorite aspect of working at Team 1?
For Skylar, the best part of working at Team 1 is simple and meaningful: the people.

What do you want to share about your life outside of Team 1?
Outside of work, Skylar is heavily involved in demolition derbies. “I run pickup trucks,” he said, describing his love for the adrenaline and the thrill of the crashes. He placed second in his very first derby and has been participating for seven to eight years or more. It’s a family tradition—his dad has been involved in demolition derbies since Skylar was in diapers—and for Skylar, it’s just as much about spending time with family as it is about the competition.

Do you have any advice and/or encouragement for future Team 1 Team Members?
Skylar’s advice is straightforward and practical: “Pay attention to details and be at work every day.”

Now for a totally random question:
In what fictional world would you love to live?
Skylar imagines a world where “money was no object.” He described it as a place built on barter, trade, and labor rather than traditional currency, the way life used to be long ago. He would enjoy it if life could go back to a simpler time like this.
