Building a Stronger Team: Introducing Our Newest Team Members
Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the transportation industry, believes that building an exceptional company is the result of building exceptional teams with exceptional people. The company looks for Team Members who are honest, demonstrate a high level of integrity, have an eagerness to learn, contribute to a safe work environment, and value each person in a diverse workforce.
We are excited to introduce three new Team Members who have recently joined us, bringing their expertise, passion, and unique skills to the team.
Dan Hall, Jennifer Getter, and Dennis Williams
JENNIFER GETTER
Jennifer joined Team 1 Plastics as an Accounting Assistant on October 14, 2024, bringing her passion for numbers, organization, and problem-solving to the team. A mother of three, she stays busy outside of work with camping, kayaking, and movie nights with her family. In her solo time, she enjoys reading, crafting, DIY home projects, and woodworking—proof that precision and creativity go hand in hand.
Her passion for finance and organization developed over years of hands-on experience. Jennifer spent 14 years running her own business, where she discovered a natural affinity for bookkeeping. While many entrepreneurs consider financial management a necessary chore, she found joy in it, particularly budgeting and accounts payable. That realization led her to pursue formal training through the Intuit Bookkeeping course at Lansing Community College, further solidifying her path in accounting. “I’ve been a math nerd my whole life, and love organizing, so being an accounting assistant is a great fit,” she shares.
At Team 1 Plastics, Jennifer’s responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, assisting the Controller with accounting tasks, and supporting other Team Members with organizing, filing, and spreadsheet development. What stood out to her most about the company was the culture—finding a workplace that values its Team Members and treats them like family was a priority. “After reading about Team 1 Plastics, I was convinced they were the best fit for me. Luckily, they agreed that I’m the best fit for them as well!” she says.
While Jennifer enjoys the work itself, she finds the company culture even more rewarding. “I love the work that I do, but what really excites me about coming to work are the people I work with. Everyone is really fun and friendly,” she says. For her, Team 1 Plastics isn’t just a job—it’s an environment where she feels welcomed, valued, and excited to contribute.
DAN HALL
Dan joined Team 1 Plastics as a Process Engineer on October 21, 2024, bringing a wealth of experience in manufacturing and a strong background in troubleshooting. He first entered the industry working in die casting but transitioned into injection molding when his previous company began phasing out die casting operations. Trained by experienced professionals, he quickly developed a passion for injection molding, finding it even more engaging than his previous work. “The more things I did in injection, I started to like it more than anything I had done previously,” he explains.
Throughout his career, Dan honed his skills in diagnosing issues with machines and processes, eventually working alongside engineers and building his expertise in automation, injection molding, and die casting. His natural ability to troubleshoot complex problems led him toward the engineering field, where he refined his technical abilities and expanded his knowledge. Now, he focuses solely on injection molding processes, utilizing his problem-solving skills to optimize operations.
When he sought new employment, Dan wanted a change from his previous third-shift schedule. He found Team 1 Plastics through Indeed and quickly realized it was the right opportunity for him. “So far, I was right,” he says. “I have enjoyed my time here, working with Dave, Travis, Mitch, and Chris. They have been helpful and patient with me as I learn the small nuances of Team 1, and it has been a breath of fresh air working for a smaller plant that has an overall positive atmosphere.”
DENNIS WILLIAMS
Dennis joined Team 1 Plastics as an Automation Engineer on February 4, 2025, bringing a wealth of experience in molding, automation, and engineering to the team. His journey into the industry began in high school when an Electro-Mechanical class introduced him to electrical wiring and robotics, sparking a lifelong passion for automation. This interest led him to study Machine Tool Automation at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, where he gained hands-on experience with CNC tools, programming, and material science. He later transferred to Western Michigan University, earning a degree in Manufacturing Engineering while minoring in Mathematics and Mold Design.
Dennis’s career officially began in December 2013 when he accepted a position as a Tooling Engineer straight out of college. Despite his passion for automation, the demand for tooling engineers kept him in that lane, even as he moved through various roles in the automotive plastics industry. “Any time I applied for a position, I would be asked if I would take a Tooling Engineer role instead, since the demand to fill those positions was higher,” he recalls. Even in his most recent role at Summit Polymers, he served as the tooling and mold adviser to the engineering group.
A shift in the automotive industry’s focus toward electric vehicles ultimately led to downsizing at his previous company, prompting Dennis to explore new opportunities. After a short stint as a die maker, he found Team 1 Plastics through Indeed and was excited to finally step into automation—a field he had been working toward for years. His current responsibilities include designing and maintaining end-of-arm tooling for robots, implementing automation to enhance productivity, and overseeing 3D printing projects. “My background in molding, automation, production, and the automotive industry has done a great job preparing me for this role,” he says.
Since joining, Dennis has found Team 1 Plastics to be a refreshing change from the high-pressure environments he previously worked in. “So far, this has been one of the nicest places I have worked. Everywhere I have worked following college has been high stress, a ‘hurry up and wait’ mentality. Team 1 instead has been relaxing in comparison, with a great atmosphere. The people here have been great to work with,” he shares.
