Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the mobility industry, has been and continues to be a successful company because of our exceptional team. Today, we will introduce one of these exceptional people, Danyle Smith, as we continue a series of articles profiling our team members.

What is your favorite story or memory during your time working at Team 1?
Danyle said that her favorite memory is when she “finally got a chance to become a QA.  I had anticipated it, and I finally got a chance!”  It’s the challenges and the learning that made Danyle so excited about joining the Quality Department.  She said that she is now able to know more about what’s going on in the company, and that she enjoys the work required in Quality, such as checking the dimensions on the different parts.  “Parts are so different.  One part might require this type of check on it, but with the next part, you have a completely different set of checks that you have to do.”

How has Team 1 helped your personal and/or professional development?

Being able to grow in the company is how Team 1 has helped Danyle in her professional development.  Danyle said that she enjoys learning and appreciates that Team 1 is providing her with many opportunities.  “I’m glad I got this opportunity to work with Team 1.  I wanted to for a while before I actually was given a chance to come work here.”  Danyle has a unique position at Team 1 Plastics.  She is the only Team Member that splits time between being a Quality Auditor (QA) and a Production Assistant (PA).  Her primary responsibility is Quality, but she serves as a back-up PA to support the Production Department.

What is your favorite aspect of working at Team 1?

It’s the Team Members that are Danyle’s favorite aspect of working at Team 1.  She identified herself as an introvert and said, “Outside of work, I don’t associate with a lot of people.  So, when I’m at work, I love being able to associate with my co-workers.  You get to know everybody.”  She values the relationships that she continues to build at Team 1 and said that her unique position has enhanced those relationships.  “With me being a QA and a PA, I’m getting to know people in both departments.”

What do you want to share about your life outside of Team 1?

Danyle feels like she has two families – one at Team 1 and one at home.  “That’s the part that I really do love!”  She confesses to love watching TV, especially the ID (Investigation Discovery) channel, which she explained is about solving murders and mysteries.  She said that she is fairly good at figuring out “Who Done It” but does like a good twist.  ”It’s so good, and you think you know it, and at the end, it’s like, ‘Aw, man!  Another guy did it!’”

Do you have any advice and/or encouragement for future Team 1 team members?

Danyle’s advice is “have good patience.  Be willing to learn and be open-minded because things can change.  You just need to be able to adjust to it.”  She mentioned herself as an example.  “Like me being a QA and a PA, one minute I’m here – the next minute I’m there.  I have to be flexible.”

Now for a totally random question:

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

“Washing clothes!” Danyle stated emphatically.  Then, she laughed and explained, “Oh my goodness, I have a daughter and she has like 50,000 things, and I have to wash and fold all of them!”  Danyle did admit that her daughter, age 9, tries to help her fold the clothes, but apparently, Danyle is too particular in the manner of folding laundry.  “When it comes to the shirts and stuff, I have to go behind her and refold them!”
