Ending the Year With Holiday Cheer at Team 1 Plastics!

From Thanksgiving Day until the turn of the New Year, it can be easy to get caught up in the “hustle and bustle” of all things centered around the Holiday Season.  For families and businesses alike, this time of year provides us all opportunities to focus on the things that matter and spend time with those we love.  This month, Team 1 Plastics has kept the “Holiday Cheer” alive with community sponsorships and holiday-themed fun around the building; including a decorating contest, two Holiday Theme Days, and a little Secret Santa.

HOLIDAY DECORATING CONTEST

During the month of December, Team Members were given an opportunity to participate in a Holiday Decorating Contest: the first of its kind at Team 1 Plastics. For the competition, there was participation from 16 Team Members, spanning six departments: Accounting, Assembly, Customer Service, Warehouse, Quality, and Maintenance. Each department chose its designated spot to decorate while receiving full creative control to do what they wished.  Judging began the week before Christmas, which was a challenging task, as all departments did such a wonderful job! The winning departments (listed below) were each given a gift basket full of goodies.

– 1st place: Customer Service/Warehouse – 2nd place: Assembly – 3rd place: Accounting

Decorating contest participants by Department:

Accounting: Suzanne Nelson,  Terri Beilfuss
Assembly: Delie Hamilton, Cortney Hamilton, and Vickie Scott
Customer Service/Warehouse: Rob Clothier, Tammy Dowding, Michelle Nielsen, Eric Boyd, Sandy Bunker, and Tasha Pritchard
Quality: Vance Bodell, Carlos Cisneros, Louann Hendricks, Shelly Ratliff, and Danyle Smith
Maintenance: Andy Zblewski’s kids!

Thank you to all who participated.
The decorating contest was so much fun and everyone did a stellar job at spreading holiday cheer!

HOLIDAY THEME DAY

Another fun “holiday happening” during December was Christmas Theme Day at Team 1.  Holding two theme days in the same week allowed all departments to participate, no matter their shift. Take a look at the fun had by Team Members during those Theme Days last week.

HOLIDAY GIVING & FOCUS ON COMMUNITY

Traditions of giving back lies at the heart of Team 1 Plastics.  During November and December, the company made its eleventh annual donation to the South Michigan Food Bank.  This month, they also partnered with the Albion American Legion Post 55 to hold a Toys for Tots toy drive; providing toys to the Marine Corps Reserve located in Battle Creek, serving Calhoun County.

Every December Team 1 also gives back to one of their own.  Team Members are given the option to contribute part of their earnings to one struggling Team Member’s family, then the company matches those contributions.  That family receives this gift before Christmas; helping to make their holiday a bit brighter.

Another tradition of giving, going back to 2016, is an annual donation to the Merry Mile.  This drive-through light show is located in the neighboring town of Marshall and has been ranked in the top 10 light shows in Michigan!  Additionally, Team 1 helped sponsor the Play Right Sports Academy Christmas Family Fun Night held earlier this month at Opportunity High School in Albion.  This event provided a night of food, fun, and gifts to many families from the Albion, Jackson, Marshall, and Battle Creek communities.
