Position Title: Process Engineer

Date of Hire: 10/21/2024

What is your favorite story or memory during your time working at Team 1?
Dan’s favorite memory is also one of his most challenging. About six months into his time at Team 1, he worked on launching a new part that came with several automation issues, including meeting a specific light requirement. While the situation was stressful, it showed him what makes Team 1 different. Instead of one person handling the problem alone, the entire engineering team came together to solve it. As Dan put it, “It’s never just you here. You have people around you supporting and helping you.”

How has Team 1 helped your personal and/or professional development?
Dan shared that Team 1 has helped him take a more balanced and thoughtful approach to his work. “I’ve slowed down a lot more,” he explained, noting that previous roles were often high-pressure and time-crunched. At Team 1, he’s had the opportunity to better structure his day, improve efficiency, and expand his thinking. The environment has also encouraged more creativity and open communication, allowing him to confidently share ideas and problem-solving suggestions.

What is your favorite aspect of working at Team 1?
For Dan, the standout aspect is the positive environment and strong sense of teamwork.

What do you want to share about your life outside of Team 1?
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his three kids, especially attending their activities. He also likes playing video games, watching football—particularly University of Michigan and Detroit Lions games—and watching Marvel movies.

Do you have any advice and/or encouragement for future Team 1 team members?
Dan believes attitude makes all the difference. He encourages new team members to come in with a positive mindset, sharing, “Stay positive and you will be fine.”

Now for a totally random question:
If you could have any new skill instantly, what would you choose?
Dan would choose to learn computer programming—not as a career, but as a hobby. He has a strong interest in electronics and computers and enjoys the idea of coding and exploring computer science in his free time. It’s something he’d love to use for personal projects, like building his own computer and experimenting with tech, rather than pursuing it professionally.
