Team 1 Plastics Awarded Going PRO Training Grant
On November 26, 2025, Team 1 Plastics proudly received a check for $12,890 from Michigan Works! Southwest as part of the Going PRO Talent Fund program. This state-funded initiative supports Michigan businesses by helping them provide advanced training opportunities for their employees.
Human Resources Manager Robert Clothier explained, “It’s a grant funded by the state that we applied for and were awarded.” He noted that the program requires companies to submit a training plan, and once approved, they have 12 months to complete the outlined development. Each eligible employee can receive up to $2,000 in reimbursement for qualified training expenses.
At Team 1 Plastics, this funding was put to meaningful use. Over the course of 2024 and 2025, six Team Members participated in specialized training programs designed to strengthen their skills and support their career growth. In many cases, the grant complemented Team 1’s existing tuition reimbursement program, ensuring that employees had access to both formal education and hands-on training opportunities.
President Craig Carrel shared his appreciation for the program, saying, “We are very pleased to receive another round of funding for training from Michigan Works! Southwest. They have been a great partner with us for many years and have helped us provide training to many of our Team Members.” This investment reflects Team 1 Plastics’ dedication to one of the four tenets of its Championship Dream: Team Member Success. By leveraging programs like Going PRO, the company empowers employees to grow professionally and personally—building a stronger workforce and a brighter future together.
