Team 1 Plastics Expands Capacity with New Nissei Molding Machine
On July 23, Team 1 Plastics welcomed the newest addition to its production floor — a 361-ton Nissei molding machine (FNX360-100A). The hybrid machine is now fully installed and operational, with its first production run taking place on August 10. Since then, the machine has completed three production runs, demonstrating its efficiency and reliability.
This investment expands the company’s molding capabilities in the 300–450-ton range, an area of significant growth for Team 1’s customers.
“This will be our third Nissei molding machine in the plant, and our first new Nissei in eight years,” said Plant Manager Dave Sanford. “One of the major deciding factors to go with this brand was that it was stocked here in the U.S., so it was only 29 days from the time we issued the PO to the time the machine arrived.” In addition to quick delivery, Sanford credits strong vendor support for the smooth process. “Dan Israels from MPS was great to work with and made sure everything went smoothly,” he noted.
TRAINING and START-UP
Nissei provided support to ensure the team was comfortable with the new machine. “Not a lot of additional training was required because it operates similar to our current Nissei machines,” Sanford said.

LOOKING AHEAD
Team 1’s expansion continues — a 450-ton Sodick molding machine was delivered to the riggers this week and is scheduled to arrive at Team 1 on September 16. “With this new machine, we’re not just adding capacity — we’re strengthening our ability to respond quickly to customer needs,” Sanford said.
