Team Members and Families Play at Team 1 Plastics’ Summer Party

Bowling and go-karts and arcade games and laser tag and many other activities were enjoyed in abundance at the Summer Party for Team 1 Plastics’ Team Members and their families at Airway Fun Center in Portage, Michigan, on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

Team 1 Plastics sponsors two parties each year for its Team Members. According to Robert Clothier, Human Resources Manager for Team 1, while both parties are focused on “building that team connection and bond,” the goal of the summer party is to “get as much involvement with the families as we can.” And the Team Members responded! Clothier said that most of the team members in attendance brought at least one kid with them — either their children or grandchildren. “It was a really good family event.”

One of the features of the venue is VIP Bowling, a private room with eight bowling lanes. This room served as the gathering place for Team 1’s Team Members. Clothier said, “We rented the private room for the first two hours and served a pizza buffet, salad, and drinks in it. Most people hung in there for a little bit and then went and did their own thing in the center. It was really nice having the private room, because without it, you wouldn’t feel so much like a group.”

Clothier said that everyone at the party received a $15 Fun Card to use on any of the activities available at Airway Fun Center. He said that he personally “wasted a lot of money on arcade games and did the go-karts once.” He said that he doesn’t remember what his total tickets amount was from the arcade games, but when he cashed them in, “I ended up walking out with three candy bars!”

According to its website, “at Airway Fun Center, there’s no shortage of fun things to do … From our expansive laser tag arena to our sprawling mini golf course, Airway Fun Center is packed wall to wall with games, activities and attractions.” Clothier and his fellow Team Members agree. He said that Team 1 will probably choose this venue for another Summer Party in the future. “Due to the positive feedback, I think it’s something in which we will definitely be interested.”
