Team 1 Plastics Sponsor of Festival of the Forks
Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the mobility industry, is proud to be a headline sponsor of this year’s Festival of the Forks in Albion, Michigan. The Festival, which will be held on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21, 2019, is in its 53rd consecutive year.
Touted as Albion’s biggest party of the year, the Festival of the Forks is, according to AlbionMich.com, “an annual reunion of current and former residents of the greater Albion area in celebration of the creativity and diversity of its people. The Festival’s goals are to strengthen and promote unity, to offer fun activities for children, families and individuals, and to foster economic growth.”
This year’s festival includes a parade, a car show, a 5K/10K race, a petting zoo, a carnival, a book sale, and lots of live music and plenty of vendors with merchandise and food to sell. Times, locations, and other details for each of the events can be found on the Festival’s website and Facebook page.
Craig Carrel, President and Co-owner of Team 1 Plastics, said, “We’ve been a strong supporter of the Greater Albion Chamber since we started our company in 1987, and we are happy to continue that support through the headline sponsorship of the Festival of the Forks.”
The idea for the festival was formed in 1966 during a town-hall meeting, according to a historical plaque located in downtown Albion. “Community Members directed the Albion Chamber of Commerce to organize and implement a community festival to be held annually in September. Named after the forks of the Kalamazoo River that merge at Reiger Park, the first Festival of the Forks took place on September 30, 1967.” The date has since been changed to the third weekend in September each year.
