Team 1 Plastics Honors Retirement of Team Member Wanda Manthei
On June 4, 1997, Wanda Manthei joined Team 1 Plastics. For the past 27 years, she has held many positions including Production Assistant, Quality, Captain, Material Handling, Warehouse Assistant, and Assembly Captain. Dedicated to doing her best every day, Wanda’s advice to success at Team 1 is to have good work ethic. “Take pride in your job,” she advised future Team Members in 2017 when interviewed for her Team Member Profile. “Even though I’ve been here nearly 20 years, I come in every day working to keep my job.”
MISSED BY MANY
There is no doubt that Wanda made a lasting impression and will be missed by many at Team 1 Plastics. “She is a very hard worker,” shared Warehouse Captain Tammy Dowding. “You can make many friends at Team 1, and then you make special friends that become like family to you.”
Assembly Lead Captain Shelley Lewis added, “Wanda was not only a coworker to most, she was a friend to many of us that have worked beside her during her time here. I look forward to keeping in touch with her.” When asked to share a memory of her time with Wanda, Shelley said, “There are too many memories to just focus on one. She was a great worker and it didn’t matter what position she was in at the time. She will be missed.”
HONORING THE RETIREE
Last week, Team 1 Plastics held a luncheon in the break room of its production facility in Albion, Michigan. Team Members were in attendance to honor Wanda’s time with Team 1, and to bid her farewell for retirement. In addition to a meal, Wanda was presented with a 27-year plaque for her service to the company. “Wanda has been a stellar Team Member for over 27 years,” President and Co-owner Craig Carrel expressed during the luncheon. “Her dedication and work ethic helped us excel. She was a tremendous asset and will be truly missed.”
