Remembering Frazier Goodwin Jr.

Team 1 Plastics is deeply saddened by the loss of Frazier Goodwin Jr., who passed away on June 6, 2026. Frazier joined Team 1 in September 2023 as an Assembly Assistant, and over nearly three years, he became a familiar, memorable, and well-loved presence on the production floor. Frazier had a personality that was impossible to miss. He was known for his dry sarcasm, his grumpy-but-funny comments, and the way he could make people laugh without even trying. Many team members described him as “one of a kind,” a phrase repeated so often it became clear just how true it was.

One of the things people remember most was his routine: arriving early every day, styrofoam cup of coffee in hand, making his rounds before the shift began. He’d stop to chat, tease, check in, or simply say good morning in his own unmistakable way. Those small moments became part of the rhythm of the workday – and part of what made him special to so many.

Frazier also gave back to the team in meaningful ways. He volunteered on the Safety Committee, was always willing to help when needed, and brought a steady work ethic to every shift. But more than anything, he brought connection. He made people feel like they belonged, and he built friendships that extended far beyond the tasks of the day. He didn’t just join Team 1 – he became part of the Team 1 family.

MEMORIES FROM THE TEAM 1 FAMILY

Below is a collection of stories and reflections shared by Frazier’s coworkers. Click on the circles to scroll through the memories. The photos were taken and shared by Team 1 Assembly Assistant Vickie Scott.

“Frazier was with Team 1 for nearly three years and was well-liked by fellow team members.  He volunteered on the Safety Committee and was always willing to help when needed.  He could usually be found coming in early and carrying around a styrofoam cup of coffee.  One time he put it in the microwave and it caught on fire.”

Robert Clothier, Human Resources Manager

“Frazier was one of a kind. He would come in 40 minutes before his shift to walk around and give everyone crap, or find out what he was doing for the day, or if he had trash. He would always remind the person who had trash that it was their day. I believe he didn’t like it when his name was on the board. He would always have a coffee cup in his hand when he came in. He was a hard worker and will be missed.”

Shelley Lewis, Lead Assembly Captain

“Over the years, not only did Frazier become employed at Team 1 Plastics, but he had, by far, become my favorite coworker. I would call him my “Partner in Crime.” It was such a pleasure working with him. The memories we created over the years at the plant will be cherished. I would like to give a special thanks to Richard and Vickie for introducing us to such an outstanding, kind man. He will truly be missed.”

Teyontae Humphreys, Assembly Assistant

“Frazier was with Team 1 for nearly 3 years and was well-liked by fellow team members.  He volunteered on the Safety Committee and was always willing to help when needed.  He could usually be found coming in early and carrying around a Styrofoam cup of coffee.  One time he put it in the microwave and it caught on fire.”

Vickie Scott, Assembly Assistant

“Frazier was a character. He was funny. He was cranky and ornery. He was just that kind of guy that would harass everybody, in a good way. He’d come in and make his rounds and pick on everyone. He’d go downstairs, and bull crap with them, and he’d come back up. He was just always a character, so funny. My part of it as the captain is I would always joke with everybody; I’d put them on like a “Frazier standard.” I’d ask them, ‘How many boxes do you got done? Two? Well Frazier would have twelve by now.’ Now I did that so often, with Frazier even, and I finally got him to speak in third person once. He told me, he’s like, ‘Well Frazier wouldn’t do that,” and I just said, ‘Gotchya!’

Rich Murray, Assembly Captain

“He was definitely one of a kind. He was a type that might have seemed a little grouchy, but he really wasn’t. He was a very great man and there’s a lot that could be said about Frazier.”

Skylar Brouse, Assembly Assistant

“It was great working with Frazier and getting to know him. He had such a great humor. Me and Frazier had some inside jokes with work friends; they called him my “Work Dad” and he got a kick out of it. Work will definitely not be the same without him. I’m definitely going to miss the bickering, laughing, and non-stop jokes. He became family to a lot of us, and will truly be missed.”

Katie Burke, Assembly Assistant

A LASTING IMPACT

Frazier’s humor, his early-morning coffee walks, his sarcastic comments, and the way he could brighten or shake up a room simply by showing up — these are the things his coworkers will remember most. He made work lighter. He made people laugh. He made connections that mattered. He will be remembered not only for the work he did, but for the joy, personality, and humanity he brought with him every day.

Frazier Goodwin Jr. was truly one of a kind, and he will be deeply missed.
