Welcome Our 2026 Summer Intern: Jack Mesic
Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the transportation and plumbing industries, believes that building an exceptional company is the result of building exceptional teams with exceptional people. The company looks for Team Members who are honest, demonstrate a high level of integrity, have an eagerness to learn, contribute to a safe work environment, and value each person in a diverse workforce. Today, Team 1 is proud to introduce a valuable Intern joining the team for the summer: Jack Mesic.

Team 1 Plastics is excited to welcome Jack Mesic as our new Summer Intern. Jack joined Team 1 on May 13 and will be with us through the end of July. After a hockey injury and surgery left him unable to train, he wanted something meaningful to keep him busy and moving forward. Several recommendations led him to Team 1, and after researching the company and interviewing with members of our leadership team, he felt it was the right fit.
Since starting, Jack has been diving into the world of plastic injection molding – a field that’s new to him but one he’s embraced with enthusiasm. He’s been learning how our machines run, why our processes are structured the way they are, and how different jobs require different setup changes. He has also begun working on CAD projects for part design. Throughout the summer, he’ll rotate through Engineering, then Automation, and eventually Maintenance, gaining a full understanding of how each area supports production.
One of the biggest surprises for Jack has been the variety of automation used throughout the plant. But what he’s appreciated most is the culture. He shared that “everyone has been super helpful and easy to work with,” and that the team‑focused environment he heard about during interviews “has definitely held true.” His supervisor, Engineering Manager Dave Seedorf, added: “John is our first intern since 2021. For many years, we hosted interns from Ferris State University each summer, though that tradition had tapered off in recent years. John has proven to be an excellent addition to our team. He is highly motivated, eager to learn, and has quickly become involved in several engineering projects. His contributions have been valuable, and we are pleased to have him supporting the engineering team while gaining meaningful hands-on experience this summer.”
We’re excited to have Jack with us this summer and look forward to seeing him continue to learn and contribute.
Welcome to the team, Jack!
