Team 1 Plastics Continues Tradition of Giving

Giving is a part of Team 1 Plastics’ Championship Dream – a document that reflects the culture of the plastic injection molding company. In keeping with its Championship Dream, Team 1 Plastics recently continued two annual holiday season traditions of giving.

First, Team 1 Plastics donated a percentage of its annual sales to the Food Bank of South Central Michigan in the name of each of its customers to honor them and thank them for doing business with Team 1. According to the Food Bank, “Many families in our community will benefit from this donation since the Food Bank works to leverage every $1.00 donated into providing six meals in the community. So far in 2017 the Food Bank has distributed over 8.5 million pounds of food.”

Second, the company’s Team Members were encouraged to donate part of their salaries to a local family in need. The Team Members’ generous gifts were doubled because Team 1 Plastics matched each donation.

Besides these annual traditions of giving, Team 1 Plastics also donated to Springport Holiday Hope, a local organization in Springport, Michigan, begun by Travis Castle, Project Engineer for Team 1, and his family three years ago. The organization was formed to help families in need have a gift for their kids for the holiday. According to Castle, “Every year my family and I, along with some sponsors, gather toys, stuffed animals and blankets to give to each kid. This year we were able to help 540 kids receive gifts by giving them a bag of toys, a stuffed animal, and a blanket. It is amazing to hear how appreciative everyone is to receive this help, and it feels really nice hearing that we ‘saved’ Christmas. That is what helps me continue to do this every year.”
