Team 1 Plastics Looks Back and Looks Forward

Now that 2016 has drawn to a close, it is appropriate for Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the automotive industry, to Look Back … and then, Look Forward.

Team 1 Plastics looks back over 2016 and realizes how blessed it is because of the investment that its customers and stakeholders have in the company and in its Team Members’ lives.

2016 was a year of expansion for Team 1 Plastics. The company expanded its facility, its production capability, and its customer base.

• On May 3, 2016, Team 1 held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to officially open the completed facility expansion. The expansion increased the plant by 3500 square feet. The added space allowed the company to relocate the Maintenance Department, which, in turn, allowed for additional space to expand its production capability.

• Since the completion of the expansion, Team 1 has installed several new pieces of equipment – three molding machines and a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) machine – increasing capability in production and enhancing quality control.

• Team 1 Plastics greatly values its partnerships with its customers and is pleased to announce that MAHLE, an international supplier of automotive engine components, has joined Team 1’s list of customers. The addition of MAHLE continues Team 1’s strategy to maintain a diversified automotive supplier customer base, safeguarding the stability of the company and protecting its customers’ investment with the company.

2016 was also a year during which several organizations recognized Team 1 Plastics with awards and certifications.

• In February, Plastics News announced that Team 1 Plastics was once again named Best Places to Work in the Plastics Industry. This was the third straight year that Team 1 was honored with this award.

• In March, Team 1 Plastics was certified again to ISO/TS 16949:2009 standard by NSF-ISR.

• Also in March, Team 1 Plastics was honored by Yanfeng Automotive Interiors as a supplier who excels in performance, receiving its Bronze Performance Award for 2015.

• In September, Team 1 Plastics was awarded the Gold Distinguished Safety Award for the 2015 calendar year by the Plastics Industry Association.

Even though the automotive industry has begun to plateau, Team 1 Plastics looks forward to 2017 with anticipation of continued growth for its company and its customers. It also looks forward to a year-long celebration of the company’s 30th Anniversary and anticipates a renewal by its Team Members to the company’s Championship Dream.
