Team 1 Plastics Reflects on 2017 and Looks Forward to 2018

2017 has drawn to a close and what a year it was for Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the transportation industry! It was a year of celebrating, reflection, and renewed purpose.

Throughout the entire year, the company celebrated its 30th Anniversary.

• Through a series of news articles, highlighting different milestones in Team 1’s history, its owners, and its Team Members reflected on the different stakeholders who have supported Team 1 throughout its 30-year history. Thank You for Your investment in Team 1 Plastics!

• The company sponsored a very successful giving campaign to raise funds for local community projects. Although final numbers are still pending, there has been over $8000 raised through the 30th Anniversary Fund Raising Campaign! Thank You to each person and organization who gave so generously!

• Team 1 Plastics hosted an Anniversary Celebration event for its Team Members in April. Then, in November, the Team Members joined together to bury a Time Capsule that will be opened in 2047. Thank You to each Team Member for Your investment in the company!

Also in 2017, the company renewed its purpose.

• During the 30th Anniversary Celebration event, the Team Members recommitted themselves to the company’s Championship Dream. “Team 1 is dedicated to becoming a recognized leader in the supply of high quality, cost effective, plastic components. We are committed to continuously improving our processes while supplying quality product on time to support the smooth flow of our customers’ operations.”

• As part of that focus on Continuous Improvement, Team 1 Plastics purchased and installed three new injection molding presses in 2017, including a 300-metric ton press which expanded the company’s capabilities. The company also focused on reducing rejects (down 39% from 2016) and improving on-time delivery to provide reduced costs and better service to its customers.

• In strategic planning, Team 1 Plastics shifted its emphasis from being strictly automotive focused to now serving the “transportation industry.” The company is enthusiastic about the opportunities for growth that this expansion of focus will bring.

And so, Team 1 Plastics is excited for 2018 and looks forward with anticipation of continued growth for its company and its customers. And the Team Members would like to thank each person and organization who has an investment in the company’s success in both 2017 and 2018.
