According to the Plastics News website, “Best Places to Work is a survey and awards program dedicated to identifying and recognizing the best employers and providing organizations with valuable employee feedback.” Since 2014, Plastics News has partnered with Best Companies Group to administer and determine the rankings for this survey-driven award.
Best Companies Group has a specific methodology when ranking the participating companies for the annual Best Places to Work (BPTW) award. This method includes a thorough company assessment, an in-depth employer questionnaire, and a company-wide survey. The employer questionnaire addresses things such as company policies, practices, and demographics – while the employee survey focuses on employee engagement and satisfaction. The data is then analyzed, and participating employers are ranked against others in their industry.
It is important to understand that the BPTW award has many factors that are taken into consideration when determining an employer’s rank, but this title is most strongly impacted by the feedback from the employees themselves. Team 1 Plastics Human Resources Manager Rob Clothier explains, “The BPTW survey is sent out to all team members via email. 75% of the ranking is based on team member feedback, 25% on employer. Responses are confidential. So, the most rewarding part of the award is that it’s not us choosing who gets to respond or saying that we’re the best place to work, it’s mostly our team.”
For 2022, Team 1 Plastics is proud to announce that they have earned Plastics News’ Best Places to Work award….again! This award is the eighth of its kind for the company, missing this honor only once since its inception with Plastics News nine years ago. With this many years of being recognized by their team members as a great place to work, it is no wonder that Team 1 Plastics has historically been below the industry average for employee turnover.
For over 20 years, Plastics News has held an annual Executive Forum where “plastics industry leaders [take] the stage and shared their unique perspectives on what the future holds for their companies, and for the industry at large.” Additionally, the BPTW winners are awarded at this forum with a plaque and an overall ranking.
Team 1’s Owner and President Craig Carrel attended Plastics News’ 2022 Executive Forum last week in Naples, Florida. There he was given the plaque you see pictured and received notice that his company had ranked #4 amongst all processors. Carrel was excited as he shared the news with his team. “This is our highest rating of the eight years we have won this prestigious award. We are so proud of our team and the stellar way we work together to solve our customer problems. Keep up the good work!”
