Team Members from Team 1 Plastics, a plastic injection molding company for the transportation industry, were recently honored to present during breakout sessions at two national conferences, MAPP’s Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference and Plastics News’ Marketing Summit.
Craig Carrel, President and Co-owner, and Robert Clothier, Human Resources Manager, both presented at the MAPP (Manufacturer’s Association for Plastics Processors, Inc.) Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference held in Indianapolis on October 10-12, 2018. According to its website, the conference is the plastics industry’s only Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference for processors.
Carrel, who teamed up with Jennifer Latiolais from All-Plastics, LLC in the Breakout session, Marketing: Small Budget, Big Returns, shared how Team 1 Plastics had changed its approach to marketing in 2015, especially in its focus on social media. After several years of inconsistency in posting to its social media sites, Team 1 Plastics made the decision to hire an outside contractor to help the company. Carrel then contrasted the analytics from the years prior to and since 2015 to demonstrate the difference and improvement.
Clother presented with two other companies, Par 4 Plastics Inc. and Elkhart Plastics, in the Breakout session, Organizational Incentive Plans (Gain Sharing). Clothier shared about Team 1’s Open-Book program – how the company uses it to share financial information with its Team Members and the bonus program associated with it.
The Plastics News Marketing Summit was held on Monday, October 22, 2018, in Chicago. According to its website, the Summit is “the plastics industry’s only conference dedicated to marketing your brand, expanding your presence, generating leads and reaching your desired customers.”
During the Breakout session, Social Media 101 – Tips for Social Media Success for Small to Medium Sized Processors, Carrel and Brenda Eubank, Team 1 Plastics’ Marketing Assistant, presented together, expanding on the information that Carrel had presented at the MAPP conference.
One of the Summit’s annual events is the Campaign of the Year award presentation and Panel Discussion. Team 1 Plastics’ 30th Anniversary marketing campaign was selected as a finalist for the 2017 Campaign of the Year. Carrel represented Team 1 Plastics on the Discussion Panel which consisted of a representative from each of the four finalists’ companies. In accepting the award, Carrel said, “Thank you for the award. It is an honor to be recognized by Plastics News and to share the stage with all the finalists!”
